P-608 Protective Clothing in Living Areas

PURPOSE: 

In the interest of the health and safety of all our members to further reduce the chance of members being exposed to additional contaminants.

OBJECTIVE:

The objective of this policy is that Members will have a reduced chance of being exposed to additional contaminants. 

SCOPE:

This policy applies to career and volunteer fire fighters of HRFE. 

POLICY: 

No Personal Protective Equipment which has been worn at Emergency incidents is to be carried or worn in the living areas of any station. If this equipment enters these areas, it is probable that some contaminants (soot and debris) could cross contaminate the living areas.

POLICY REVIEW:

This policy shall be reviewed when/if there are changes/amendments to which personal protective equipment is allowed within living areas.
