P-401 Safety Practices at Electrical Installations

PURPOSE:

To establish a policy to be followed when members encounter an area which has been secured by Nova Scotia Power.

 

OBJECTIVE:

To ensure the proper practices are followed by members during electrical installations.

 

SCOPE:

This policy applies to career and volunteer firefighters of HRFE.

 

POLICY:

All personnel are advised that AT NO TIME and UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCES will this Department condone the forcing of any door, or the removing of any security device, to allow entry into an electrical room or any electrical vault which has been secured by Nova Scotia Power. Be advised that Nova Scotia Power is to be notified whenever a situation arises where their equipment is involved.
